Student Organizations and Leadership Programs

Student Organizations and Leadership Programs invites you to get involved at UNO!

The University of Nebraska at Omaha has over 100 recognized clubs and organizations in which students may become involved. Fraternities, sororities, Student Government, service agencies, honor societies, professional organizations, the student newspaper, the Student Programming Organization, and special interest groups are all available on campus.

The Student Organizations and Leadership Programs office, located in the Milo Bail Student Center, is the key to co-curricular activities and leadership development opportunities on campus. The University recognizes the value of a well-rounded program for student development and encourages students to participate in campus activities. Involvement develops leadership and organizational skills, initiates new friendships, and assists in the transition to college life. Check with the Student Organizations and Leadership Programs office at any time for an updated list of organizations. Also, if you have a special interest in something that is not already available and would like to start your own club, contact the Student Organizations and Leadership Programs office for additional information. Starting a new club is easy to accomplish.

If you have any questions, and/or would like to get involved in any of UNO's clubs and organizations, stop by our office on the first floor of the Student Center, call 554-2711 or visit our website: http://studentorgs.unomaha.edu/. Greek Life

The fraternities and sororities at UNO are for you... get involved, meet new people, and make lasting friendships. Join a fraternity or sorority, and you'll find that there is more to college life than classes and books.

Friendship is the foundation of fraternity and sorority life, but Greek membership teaches you to work with others on activities, to excel, to accept responsibility, and to refine your values. The fraternities and sororities are all actively involved in philanthropy projects, social activities, intramural sports, leadership, scholarship, and activities with their alumni.

There are currently 8 active national sororities and 7 active national fraternities at UNO. Membership is open to all students.

Besides the Senate, the Student Government is made up of Executive and Judicial Branches.
There are also four Student Government Agencies, catering to the special needs of different students on campus; the Network for disabled Students, American Multicultural Students, International Student Services, and the Women's Resource Center.
